The Carnival Vista has been a long time in the making, and after months of delays it finally began operations on November 17th. With a capacity for 3,100 guests and an expected lifespan of 20 years, this ship is designed to be one of the most luxurious ships in its class.
The carnival cruise line news is a company that has been in operation for many years. After months of delays, the newest ship finally began operations.
Carnival Cruise Line initially announced the construction of a new class of ships four years and ten months ago. Mardi Gras will set sail from Port Canaveral’s Terminal 3 at 6:00 p.m. today on her first trip.
It’s been a remarkable few days for Carnival Cruise Line, as well as the thousands of passengers who have the privilege of being aboard right now. Hundreds of travel agents and journalists were given the opportunity to attend Mardi Gras yesterday, with visits from all of the major players. Today was the day when Mardi Gras officially welcomed the guests who had been waiting for months.
From Port Canaveral, Mardi Gras begins seven-day itineraries.
The first in a series of seven-day cruises from Port Canaveral, the Mardi Gras, departs today. The Mardi Gras will be at sea for two days, allowing passengers plenty of time to tour the 180,000 gross ton ship.

San Juan, Puerto Rico, will be the first port of call, followed by a day at Carnival’s Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic, where she’ll stay from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The ship will arrive in Nassau, Bahamas, after another day at sea. The ship will return to Port Canaveral the following day.
Carnival President Christine Duffy stated, “Mardi Gras has been five years in the planning, so to finally welcome passengers on board to experience this one-of-a-kind ship is something we’ve been looking forward to for a long time.” “Not only does Mardi Gras provide our visitors a completely unique holiday experience, but it’s also very rewarding to be able to contribute to the local community by creating much-needed employment and boosting the economy.”

The first cruise is not the formal Mardi Gras inaugural trip. Due to the continuing difficulties that the pandemic is causing Carnival Cruise Line, the formal christening of Miss Dominican Republic Kimberly Jiménez has been postponed. A later date will be determined for the ‘official’ first trip. Mardi Gras cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean are referred to as pre-inaugural cruises by the cruise company.
Earlier this year, Duffy said, “We are extremely pleased to finally welcome visitors on Mardi Gras.” “In order to preserve summer vacations for our Mardi Gras visitors, we will officially christen her at a later date so that we may begin operating these pre-inaugural sailings as soon as possible.”
Western-Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral to Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, as well as Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan, Honduras, are among the other Mardi Gras itineraries. Nassau is substituted with Grand Turk on other Eastern Caribbean trips.
The First-Ever Day of Embarkation
The first-ever embarkation day for Carnival’s Mardi Gras began today at 1:00 p.m. at Terminal 3, with Carnival welcoming the first passengers inside. It comes after a ribbon-cutting ceremony called “Back to Fun” to formally welcome visitors on board. To guarantee that the terminal was not overcrowded, all visitors were obliged to come at a specified time window. At 6:00 p.m., the new ship will set sail.

“Today was a very emotional occasion for our whole Mardi Gras team,” said Mardi Gras Captain Giuseppe Giusa. It is a tremendous honor to be named the flagship of Carnival Cruise Line, and our whole crew is excited to offer our passengers with the vacation they have been waiting for. We’re eager to go back to having a good time!”

Carnival’s onboard procedures have been developed to keep everyone safe while also ensuring that all passengers enjoy the same experience they had aboard Carnival’s ship prior to the epidemic. The ship has a minimum of 95 percent of its passengers vaccinated, with the figure for staff members aboard being considerably higher.

Passengers do not need to be concerned about social isolation, and wearing a mask on board is not necessary for the 95 percent of guests who have been vaccinated. And, as we’ve seen this week, there’s enough to keep you busy aboard.
Mardi Gras has the first-ever roller coaster on board, as well as a variety of classic and innovative restaurant concepts, such as Shaq’s Big Chicken and Rudi Sodamin’s seafood restaurant. Carnival has also added a new premium suite class known as the Excel suites, a new luxury hideaway known as Loft 19, and a slew of new bars and entertainment venues.
