American Airlines launches Miami-Tel Aviv and 6 other new international routes

American Airlines has pulled out of Israel following its merger with US Airways. US Airways flew from Philadelphia to Tel Aviv. I expected American to continue to grow and develop in this country when they dropped El Al as a loyalty program partner.
After deciding to return to Tel Aviv, they accepted the largest grant ever awarded by Israel for the Dallas Fort Worth – Tel Aviv road. This flight probably came with Christian missionary goods from the middle of the country.
As part of the upcoming partnership with JetBlue, the Americans will begin operations at New York’s JFK – Tel Aviv, Israel’s largest and most important market.
Now they have announced a path that seemed to make sense six years ago, when it seemed that they would go to Israel alone: From Miami to Tel Aviv. They also announced six new international routes and two Saturday regional aircraft. Several Latin American cities will have more this summer than in 2019.

American will also fly Miami – Little Rock, Arkansas and Portland, Maine on Saturdays starting on the 5th. June to June 16. Serve in August. And they add the energy of Miami,
- Port-au-Prince (PAP) flies 5 times daily, plus an additional flight from Fort Lauderdale to Port-au-Prince in April.
- Santiago (STI) and Santo Domingo (SDQ) – 4x and 7x.
- More flights to various Latin American cities this summer compared to 2019 (they no longer have a food partnership with LATAM) : Bogota (BOG); Medellín (MDE); Cali (CLO); Guayaquil (GI); Quito (UIE); Lima (LIM); and Santiago (SCL), as well as Port-au-Prince.
Flights depart on February 15. in the sale, so it’s a good time to check award availability for the new flight to Tel Aviv.
Personally, I’m looking forward to the new Merida flight, which would be a good addition if we had it flying out of Austin, although I wish it would be more than a Saturday. It’s better than going to Cancun for Chichen Itza and the Starwood haciendas I’ve had my eye on for a while.
