From August 14, 2021, until October 31, 2021, Carnival Cruise Line will introduce a new pre-testing requirement. Guests who have been completely immunized must additionally provide evidence of a negative PCR or antigen test result obtained three days before to departure. The cruise line will not provide a terminal exam, as some other cruise companies do.
“These additional standards are being introduced to safeguard our guests and crew while on board, as well as to give our homeports and destinations confidence that we are doing our bit to assist their efforts to preserve public health and safety,” said Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy. “We anticipate that these restrictions will be transitory, and we appreciate our visitors’ cooperation. Our first month of guest operations has been greeted with great excitement and good comments, and we are dedicated to continuing our relaunch with a focus on both enjoyment and safety.”

Unvaccinated visitors have previously been required to take a test as part of Carnival’s procedures. Unvaccinated passengers, who make up fewer than 95 percent of passengers on each cruise, must adhere to stricter procedures and pay $150 for testing and screening.
