Christine Duffy, chief executive of Carnival Cruise Line, said: We are very happy to finally welcome guests on Mardi Gras. Because we want to spare our carnival-goers the summer holidays, we will find a later date for the official christening, so that we can start the flights as soon as possible before the inauguration.

The ship is now preparing for its return and new crew members arrive to organize their services. Supplies are coming in and the entertainment team is ready for rehearsals to bring back the fun. Since the original opening date of 31. August 2020, Mardi Gras has been postponed several times.
