The freshly redesigned Carnival Radiance has finally appeared after more than 18 months in Cadiz, Spain. The Carnival cruise ship has already left the shipyard and is returning to the United States. It comes after a long wait for the vessel’s makeover to commence owing to the vessel’s stoppage of operations.
The transformation of Carnival Radiance is complete.
In early March 2020, Cruise Hive reported on the Carnival cruise ship departing the United States and headed to its dry dock in Cadiz, Spain. It’s been more than 18 months since the ship last sailed, and it’s finally back on the water.
On October 2, the Carnival Radiance finished her $200 million dry dock makeover at the Navantia shipyard and was transported to the pier for finishing work. On October 18, the ship left Cadiz, Spain.
The ship is now traveling across the Atlantic, with plans to return to the west coast of the United States. It’s the ship’s first trip back to sea, and the seven-week voyage will finish in Long Beach, California, after passing through the Panama Canal.
The Carnival Radiance will begin sails from the Long Beach Cruise Terminal on December 13th. Year-round, the ship will provide three- and four-day trips to Baja, Mexico. Every Friday, the three-day itinerary will leave with a stop in Ensenada, Mexico. Every Monday, a four-day cruise will leave from Ensenada, including stops in Ensenada and Catalina Island.
Carnival Miracle, which sails short cruises to Mexico, and Carnival Panorama, which sails week-long journeys to the Mexican Riviera, will be joined by the new-look Carnival ship.
