The Royal Caribbean International cruise line announced today that Miami will be the inaugural port of call for the company’s new mega-yacht, “Oasis of the Seas.” The ship will be one of only four ships in the world with a total capacity of 6,000 guests. United is also planning to include Cincinnati on its itinerary, which will be the first time the line has stopped in Ohio.

Carnival Cruise Line has announced that it will add Miami as a port of call and disembarkation city for its ships, beginning with two of its seven-day cruises in January of 2017. The company is taking advantage of a newly-constructed cruise ship terminal at PortMiami, which will allow it to operate five- and seven-day Caribbean cruises from the South Florida city in 2017. Miami is scheduled to be the only port of call for Carnival’s seven-day Caribbean cruises from January to April of 2017.

Carnival Cruise Line’s line up for 2019 is already packed with ports that include Canada, Alaska, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. That’s a lot of destinations, but when the company announced they would add Miami to the list of ports of call in Miami, suddenly South Beach made sense. In addition to the sheer convenience of the cruise line’s Miami-based port, the city is currently undergoing a major transformation as new developments are popping up every day.. Crystal Cruises is adding Miami as a port of call and embarkation point for its Bahamas sailings. The itinerary options will be extended immediately, giving passengers even more options from the world’s cruise capital.

Miami has been added as a new option for Crystal.

With the Crystal Serenity cruise ship, the cruise company expands its Bahamas services to include Miami. During the August 7 trip from Nassau, Bahamas, the ship will begin traveling to Miami. The embarking day for the ship will be August 9 in Miami.

Mayor Daniella Levine Cava of Miami-Dade County stated, “We’re working hard to bring safe cruising back to PortMiami stronger than ever.” “I am delighted that Crystal Cruises will launch a new passenger service to The Bahamas from Miami, providing tourists with a new vacation destination and generating economic possibilities for our city. Thank you for selecting PortMiami as your homeport, Crystal Cruises.”

This also means that the seven-night cruises, dubbed “Luxury Bahamas Escapes” by Crystal, will run until early November 2021 and will visit three different embarkation ports. The Crystal Serenity will sail from Nassau on Saturdays, Bimini on Sundays, and Miami on Mondays.

“The tremendous reaction to our deployment of Crystal Serenity’s Luxury Bahamas Escapes demonstrates the pent-up demand for cruising, and we are delighted to have begun cruising on July 3 in The Bahamas,” stated Crystal’s president, Jack Anderson. “By adding Port of Miami, we are providing travelers with yet another convenient way to join these popular Bahamas cruises that provide vacation escapes that are both close to home and yet a world away, with amazing outdoor options ranging from snorkeling and diving to eco-tours and deep-sea fishing, to simply relaxing on some of the world’s most beautiful beaches,” says the company.

The luxury cruise company has been focusing on its return to sailing, and Crystal Serenity in the Bahamas has been a big part of that. Following Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas, the ship became the second to call Nassau home.

On July 3, the Crystal cruise ship left her new homeport amid much fanfare, becoming the first in the fleet to begin ocean cruising. The Luxury Bahamas Escapes set a new record for the cruise company by booking the most passengers in a single day in March.

For embarkations in Miami, the cruise company will make minor changes to its health procedures to meet with Florida’s requirements. Crystal simply strongly advises, not mandates, that all visitors be properly immunized. Guests aged 12 and above must be properly vaccinated to travel to other ports.

It appears that Carnival Cruise Line is adding Miami as a port of call and embarkation destination for its ships. The company says it will bring 10 cruises to Miami this year. Carnival will operate several new ships in its fleet in 2017, including Carnival Elation and Carnival Inspiration in the Caribbean, and Carnival Conquest in the North American east coast and Canada..
