Crystal Cruises will set up shop in the Bahamas in July, when the luxury cruise line launches new cruise ships in the Nassau and Bimini area. The move is part of a new trend among cruise lines to locate their home ports outside the United States.

Cruises with crystals calling at the Bahamas

It seems that Crystal Cruises and the Bahamas government have been working hard behind the scenes to get the cruises back in business. The difference is that we are seeing a move away from the United States and for the first time Crystal Cruises will be home ported in Nassau and Bimini.

In a joint virtual announcement by Crystal and the Honourable Dionisio D’Aguilar, Minister of Tourism and Aviation for the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, it was announced that the Crystal Serenity would be launched on July 3. July 2021 will leave the country.

Jack Anderson, Crystal’s interim president and CEO, said:

Like our guests, we have been looking forward to the day when we could welcome them back on board, and we are very excited about this day in the Bahamas.

With Bahamas Escapes’ new cruises, travelers can now enjoy luxury cruises and take advantage of much-needed benefits for local professionals, airlines, restaurants, retailers and hotels to stay before and after the cruise. The introduction of these cruises will also contribute to the economic growth of The Bahamas, which, like other destinations around the world, has been affected by the global pandemic.

The luxury cruise ship will depart from Nassau on a series of 16 seven-night voyages. From 4. In July, the ship will also offer 16 night voyages from Bimini. As you can see, both flights have a stopover in the home port, which is a very good choice for the customers.

The Crystal ship will be the first homeport in the Bahamas, as well as the first ocean cruise ship from America since the suspension began in March 2020.

Mr. D’Aguilar even said that Crystal Cruises will be the only cruise line to exclusively offer itineraries to The Bahamas that highlight the special features and experiences travelers can find here on our islands.

The new cruises are not just for Bahamians, as we have seen with other houseboats. One of the reasons the cruise line chose the Bahamas is that the islands are very close to the United States, so the trip can be short. However, customers must be fully vaccinated to travel with crystals and follow Crystal Clean+ 4.0 hygiene procedures.

To make things even easier, Crystal Cruises offers comprehensive land and hotel packages, including SLS Baha Mar in Nassau and Hilton Resorts World Bimini. Pre- and post-cruise hotel programs in Nassau and Bimini start at $359 and $299 per person, respectively, including transfers between facilities and airports, as well as all taxes and surcharges.

The cruise line is offering affected customers the opportunity to transfer their reservations to new Bahamas cruises with a cruise credit of 115%.

For now, the cruise line will remain suspended from sailing on Ocean until June 2021. River cruises remain out until May 2021.

Cruise lines are looking for ports outside the United States

The news follows a new trend of cruise lines moving away from their home ports in the United States. Ryal Caribbean is at the forefront of this evolution and has already left Singapore. The new Odyssey of the Seas will also depart for her inaugural season in Israel starting in May.

It has been suggested that Royal Caribbean could even make Cozumel its home port. However, this development is ongoing and may ultimately come to nothing. There is no doubt that if the US leaves the cruise industry in limbo, the cruise lines may be forced to look elsewhere for survival.
