On Thursday, August 2, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War brought the super-group together to save the world from a catastrophic super-powered confrontation. While you probably expected some sort of surprise to be included in the new Disney Cruise Line dining program, much of the meal choices were surprising, even for an Avengers fan.
For a number of years now, Disney Cruise Line has been bringing together Marvel super-heroes and cosplay into one of their dining experiences. This year, the line will offer a new meal for the superhero set: “Avengers’ Dining on Disney Wish.” For an additional charge, guests can enjoy a specially themed dining adventure on the Disney Fantasy, Disney Wonder and Disney Dream during sea days.
There are a number of Marvel references on the Disney Cruise Line, which is headed to New Orleans as a stop on its “Avengers”-themed European cruise. The ship will be carrying Disney’s “Avengers: Infinity War” film, which stars the likes of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. The film provides the backdrop for onboard dining options, which will include themed dining areas inspired by the characters, the trailer for which was shown during the “Avengers: Infinity War” press tour.
Disney Cruise Line has released fresh information about one of their future ships, Disney Wish.
The ship will include a brand-new rotating dining restaurant named Worlds of Marvel, as previously revealed. Now, the company is promoting Quantum Encounter (Avengers), which it describes as a “cinematic eating experience.” The event will bring together some of the world’s most powerful — and smallest — super heroes in a larger-than-life display of technology and gastronomy.
Details on two Disney Wish quick-casual eating establishments have also been released.
Avengers: Quantum Encounter
Guests will take part in an Avengers adventure that unfolds around them at Worlds of Marvel, replete with a cuisine inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In “Avengers: Quantum Encounter,” Ant-Man and The Wasp go on their first public speaking engagement as representatives of the Avengers. They’ll be showing off the most powerful super hero technology, such as Captain America’s shield, Iron Man’s arc reactor, and Ant-Pym Man’s Particles.

A hands-on display of the newest Pym Tech — the Quantum Core — which utilizes cutting-edge (and extremely unstable) technology to shrink and enlarge objects at the touch of a button is the event’s centerpiece. A couple “misfires” lead to some amusing antics, but the real problem starts when an unexpected enemy shows up to steal the technology.
To rescue the day, Ant-Man and The Wasp will enlist the assistance of Captain America, Captain Marvel, and the restaurant patrons.
“’Avengers: Quantum Encounter’ is the most ambitious dining experience Disney Cruise Line has ever created,” said Danny Handke, senior creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering.
“We’re creating a unique Avengers experience that will immerse our customers in the action via advanced technology and creative storytelling, which has never been done before in a restaurant. It’s the ideal complement to the Disney Wish’s amazing story-driven dining menu.”

At Worlds of Marvel, each table will have an interactive Quantum Core. Diners will lend a hand as Ant-Man and The Wasp try some small-scale experiments.
When enough cores are triggered at the same moment, energy bursts through the power channels in the walls and ceiling, supercharging the whole arena.
From a Marvel hexagonal pattern to the numerous “Easter eggs” and intricacies buried throughout the performance, the restaurant’s design will be full of surprises.
With meals inspired by locations like African Wakanda, Eastern European Sokovia, and the Avengers’ home base in New York City, the menu will take visitors on a journey of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s actual and fictitious settings.

Casual Dining Locations
In addition to the Avengers dining announcement, Disney Cruise Line has provided additional information on several casual eating choices near Disney Wish.
Marceline Market is a market in Marceline, France.
Marceline Market is a sophisticated food hall inspired by markets across the globe, and is Disney Wish’s interpretation of a contemporary cruise ship buffet. It is named after Walt Disney’s boyhood city of Missouri.
Marceline Market, which will include ten food booths and a café-style beverage bar, will be styled like an old industrial loft that has been transformed into a busy marketplace, but with a Disney touch. The owners of this dining hall are Disney characters, and each station is styled after animated films including “Tangled,” “Ratatouille,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Zootopia,” and others.
American classics, foreign specialities, comfort meals, seafood, soups and salads, vegetarian and plant-based dishes, baked products, and desserts will all be available from these merchants.
For breakfast and lunch, Marceline Market will be a casual, walk-around eating experience, and for evening, it will be table-service with entrées prepared to order.

Food Festival with Mickey and Friends
The Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods, located right in the midst of the action on the upper decks, will be the go-to place for a quick meal in between the excitement.
Here, you’ll find Disney Cruise Line’s trademark soft-serve ice cream, as well as two brand-new Disney offerings: dedicated quick-service barbeque and Mexican-inspired cuisine.
Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue, Donald’s Cantina, Daisy’s Pizza Pies, Goofy’s Grill, and Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream will all be available at the open-air eatery, which will have a total of five food stalls: Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue, Donald’s Cantina, Daisy’s Pizza Pies, Goofy’s Grill, and Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream.
The beach promenade scene seen in famous Mickey Mouse animated cartoons influenced the design for this Festival of Foods site. There will be a shaded sitting area available.
The Disney Wish will have her first voyage on June 9, 2022, followed by a season of three- and four-night cruises from Port Canaveral to Nassau and Castaway Cay.
