Disney Cruise Line will restart cruises from Florida in 2021.

The cruise ship industry has seen a boom in recent years, with fleets of ships originating from virtually every country in the world. These ships can travel in every corner of the world and often offer unique and immersive experiences. But the cruise lines in the United States have not kept up with demand and many of these ships are currently being turned away at ports around the country.

In August 2021, Disney will restart cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida, in what will be the first time in more than two decades that the company has offered guests the chance to sail to and from the Sunshine State. The announcement comes as Disney is set to close its troubled theme parks in Orlando and Anaheim in the coming years, resulting in the loss of thousands of jobs in the area. Disney has now announced that the company will be offering guests the chance to cruise to Florida from Port Canaveral, which will see cruises offered to guests from Port Canaveral starting in August 2021.. Disney Cruise Line (DCL) has announced that starting August 9, the Disney Dream would resume three- and four-night trips from Port Canaveral, visiting the Bahamas’ private island Castaway Cay.

The announcement demonstrates how far the sector has progressed in such a short time. When Disney suspended all sailings through the end of May in March, CEO Bob Chapek stated the line would “hopefully” be able to resume limited operations this autumn. Beating that forecast demonstrates the industry’s success in collaboration with public health authorities.

In a statement, Disney Cruise Line stated, “Our emphasis remains on running our ships in a responsible manner that continues to generate enchantment for everyone on board.”

“We are resuming sailing in a phased, progressive manner that focuses on many layers of health and safety precautions established in consultation with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other medical experts.”

After more than a year at sea, Disney Cruise Line has reopened, with the Disney Magic currently sailing the United Kingdom’s coastline on short trips exclusively for UK citizens. Last weekend, the Disney Dream conducted a two-night test voyage from Port Canaveral, with 300 Disney workers and their guests serving as passengers.

Disney Cruise Line plans to adopt a “multi-layered approach” to health and wellbeing, according to the company. While vaccines are not required for departures from Florida, the cruise company advises that “all eligible passengers should get completely vaccinated against COVID-19 before their Disney trip.” Guests on sailings leaving from Florida, however, are not required to have vaccinations.”

In most indoor settings, face coverings will be required.

Guests who refuse to disclose their immunization status will be subjected to testing before leaving home and again at the time of departure.

To encourage physical separation, visitor capacity has been limited, and all guests aged two and above will be forced to wear facial covers in most indoor public spaces.

Disney said it will progressively reintegrate the remainder of its fleet, in line with its phased-in strategy. The statement said, “We are continuing to prepare the Disney Fantasy and Disney Wonder to welcome visitors once again and look forward to providing more information soon.”

“For the time being, certain things may seem to be different.”

Disney Fantasy departures will be canceled through August 28, Disney Wonder departures will be canceled through September 19, and Disney Magic departures in the United States will be canceled until November 4.

In addition, Thomas Mazloum, President, Disney Signature Services, has presented a film touting Disney Cruise’s return to operation.

In a video advertising the line’s return to sailing from a U.S. port, Mazloum said, “We’re eager to welcome you back and set sail once more, with gladness in our hearts and, of course, lots of Disney Magic.” “And although some things may seem to be different for the time being, you can rest certain that the spectacular entertainment, excellent service, and meticulous attention to detail that have always characterized Disney Vacations will continue.”

On June 24, Disney announced that their new cruise ship, the Disney Wonder, will be making its maiden voyage from Port Canaveral in August of 2021. Disney announced that they will be using their 3,620 passenger vessel for trips to the Bahamas, Mexico, and Canada. There will be stops in Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands. Disney Wonder will also make four trips a year to the Western Caribbean. The ship will have twelve galleys, four hot and cold plunge pools, eight bars and lounges, two atriums, a library, an art gallery, and three theater theaters. The ship will be the fifth Disney ship to be in service, and is set to be the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly ship yet. ~~.
