One of the best aspects of travelling is to take home influences from all over the world and integrate them into your daily life. I am fascinated by the natural remedies and medicines used in different countries. Before 2021, the Irish Sea Moss. Kim Kardashian even wrote about drinking Seemoos cocktails in Instgram. Although this health-promoting drug has been silently tested for thousands of years, it is no secret!
What is a Seemoos?.
The benefits of nature (Photo: AKUPA John WIGAM)
So, what’s Seemoos? Moss is a kind of red algae, but despite its name, it is not limited to the beautiful shores of Ireland. The Irish Sea Moss grows along the Atlantic coast of North America, Europe and the Caribbean islands, particularly Jamaica.
The Irish were the first to harvest seaweed for something useful, and used it in medicine since the 1800s and during the potato shortage in Ireland. At a distance of 8,000 km in Jamaica, the islanders also traditionally use Seemoos to cure diseases (and folklore also stresses that they can act as a natural Viagra…), but also for the healing and, uh, stimulating potential of the moss. Drinking Irish Seemoos can help other areas of your health and improve your skin. It’s crazy to think that on your last beach holiday you could have encountered one of nature’s best multivitamins without knowing it, isn’t it?

Because natural Seemoos has no flavor, it can be added to a variety of dishes and beverages, including cocktails (e.g. Kim K), juices, pastries, stews, soups, sauces, desserts and ice cream. It takes on a gel-like consistency when boiled in water. Many vegans use Seemoos in their vegetarian diet as a substitute for gelatin or other thickeners. If you don’t want to cook the Seemoos yourself (or if you don’t have time), you can also buy cooked Seemoos in powder form.
The traditional Irish moss drink of Jamaica is one of the best known ways to drink sea foam. As soon as Seemoos is turned into a gel, the Jamaicans add a sweetener (usually condensed milk, honey or whole milk) and sprinkle it with hot herbs and vanilla. In the real Caribbean shops you can make it difficult for yourself with a glass of rum or Guinness. Among Jamaicans you can see it as a drink or a love potion, as they say to help relieve libido.
However, cocktails are perhaps the most realistic and convenient way to drink Seemoos. This cocktail of fresh berries and sea foam is our recipe. And if you prefer it warm, you can also drink Seemoos in your tea.

Seemos Health benefits: Why do you need Seemoos?
Anyway, that’s it! In fact, Seemoos contains more than 90% of the nutrients your body needs and can therefore help solve many health and beauty problems. The only disadvantage of Seemoos is that algae are generally difficult to study. The nutritional properties (vitamins and minerals in sea foam) vary from place to place and season to season and, according to scientists, it is difficult to determine to what extent the body absorbs the nutrients in seaweed as a result of other competing factors. However, we know that Seemoos is good for a lot of things I broke below:
Mucilages are (roughly) viscous products. Salinization is a thick, sticky substance produced by plants to store water and food, germinate seeds and thicken membranes. The best-known example of a slimy diet is cactus (and other succulent plants), but linseed, okra, aloe and Irish Sea Moss seeds are also rich sources of mucus.
Studies have shown that the texture of Irish sea moss is an excellent remedy and a sedative for the body’s mucous membranes, as it soothes irritations. Other studies have also shown that Seemoos can have prebiotic effects on digestion. This means it can reduce the number of harmful bacteria in the intestine and improve overall intestinal health and immunity. This sticky substance also dissolves in water, so that Seemoos can also act as a soluble fiber that retains its fullness longer and helps the stool to move through the gastrointestinal tract.
The sea is full of iron, which most people think can only be obtained from meat, poultry and seafood. Seamos contains a good amount of the vitamins riboflavin (B2) and folic acid (B9). Together they contribute to the formation of red blood cells, which increase iron levels and thus energy. Fun fact: Irish sea moss contains nine times more iron than chicken!
If you are tired or have little energy, it may be because you have a low iron content, and if you drink a quick cocktail and a Seemoos drink, you get a punch at lunch.
During the cold season and if you have the flu, sea foam soup can be your lunch. Seamless has been used for centuries as a protection against diseases and is good for the potassium iodide, which is excellent for dissolving the awful sputum and the glanders that clog the nose and throat. Algae are also rich in amino acids, vitamin C, antioxidants and many antiviral and antimicrobial agents that can help fight or prevent infections*.

You can make (or buy) a Seemoos facial mask and a range of other cosmetic products formulated with Irish Seemoos. Because it is rich in sulfur, it has antibacterial, antiviral and antimicrobial functions, so it is thought to contribute to the balance of microbial activity in the skin.
Many say they have used Irish Sea Moss to treat eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and minor burns. Products with a naturally high sulphur content can reduce excessive sebum production (oil production) and in some cases this can lead to a reduction in acne bacteria and a better condition of the skin. Irish Sea Moss is enriched with many nutrients that are often lacking in the normal diet, such as vitamin A and omega-3 fatty acids, which promote healthy skin and prevent inflammation.
In addition, citrulline arginine, a substance found in Seemoos, has been shown to improve cell growth and metabolism, enabling anti-aging skin care. This compound releases amino acids that stimulate protein and collagen regeneration, resulting in younger looking skin and healthy hair and nails. Magic!
Mental health and mood
And that’s not all! Eating or drinking Irish Seemoos can also improve your mood – and we can all enjoy it now. Am I right? The Seemoos drink contains magnesium and potassium, which are known to improve the mood. In addition, both minerals are associated with increased brain function.
Sea moss and Fertility
Fertility problems can occur in many different areas and it is important to remember that there is no miracle cure for unexplained infertility or any magical ingredient that makes you pregnant. However, if you’re thinking of expanding your family, it won’t hurt to feed you. Seemoos and Fertility can be a dynamic duo. In addition to all the other positive nutritional and drinking qualities of Seemoos, the natural seaweed plant is also rich in important minerals that can maintain fertility. It’s Yoda, Iron and Foleit.
is a big problem – an American study showed that women with iodine deficiency are 46% less likely to become pregnant than women with the recommended iodine content. Iodine is a chemical element found in salt water, rocks and certain types of soils. The body needs it to control metabolism and produce thyroid hormones, which are vital during conception. Fish and seafood are good sources of food, but many people are surprised to discover their lack. So even if you’re not planning on having a baby (or if you’re a man), Seemoos is still the best ingredient to add to your shopping list.
When a woman becomes pregnant, maintaining a good iodine level can help the child’s brain function. An excuse for a baby moon on the beach!
FOLATFOLAT: Folic acid can help prevent birth defects known as neural tube defects, including spinal bifida. If you did not take folic acid before conception, doctors recommend that you start taking folic acid as soon as they know you are pregnant. It is possible to combine sperm and fertility. You can take supplements before birth or during pregnancy, but you should also eat products containing folic acid (a natural form of folic acid), such as green leafy vegetables and – yes, you guessed it – sea moss!
Iron, as we already know, is essential for health and can be improved by drinking Seemoos. Iron accelerates the production of red blood cells that carry oxygen throughout the body. Studies have shown that women with anemia or iron deficiency can have difficulty getting pregnant. Seedlings account for almost 70% of the daily iron consumption. So if you’re not just sitting on a big juicy steak, it might be just what you need.
