WHY IT RATES: With a new offer, Emerald Cruises is starting off wave season early. —Senior Editor Codie Liermann

Emerald Cruises is ushering in wave season early with a new campaign entitled “Discover the World,” in response to current travel patterns predicting greater demand for small ship cruising in 2022 and 2023. This promotion, which runs through December 15, 2021, provides lots of travel inspiration across three continents as well as significant discounts on a variety of small ship river and yacht trips in 2022 and 2023. The initiative follows Emerald Cruises’ announcement that a second yacht, Emerald Sakara, would be launched in little over a year following sister-yacht Emerald Azzurra’s maiden voyage in 2022.

What’s Hot Right Now

Guests who book certain European and Southeast Asia river trips in 2022 or 2023 during the wave campaign may save up to $2,400 per pair, depending on the duration of the voyage. Guests who book a suite on the Horizon Deck (Europe) or the Horizon or Pool Deck (Asia) will get a five percent discount. Additionally, visitors who book any of the above and pay in full before December 15, 2021 will get a 10% Super Earlybird discount. The Legendary Rhine and Moselle, an eight-day journey through some of Germany’s most beautiful cities and villages, and the awe-inspiring 13-day Wonder of Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Mekong, which runs between Siem Reap and Ho Chi Minh City, are two guest favorites.

Guests who pay in full by December 15, 2021 will get up to 35 percent off select 2022 and 2023 yacht trips in the Mediterranean, Red, and Aegean Seas, as well as a complimentary Premium Drinks Package that covers all beer, wine, cocktails, and soft drinks. The eight-day Greek and Turkish Coastline sailing round trip from Athens, new for 2022, offers visitors on a voyage across the Aegean Sea’s stunning blue seas.

All Emerald Cruises reservations come with the line’s flexible booking policy, which allows customers to change their travel arrangements and move to a different departure date or itinerary up to 60 days prior to departure without incurring any penalties. Those seeking additional protection may buy the new Platinum Protection Plan, which covers visitors who get sick or have their travel plans disrupted due to Covid-19.

On three continents, Emerald Trips provides a wide selection of river and yacht cruises. The Emerald Azzurra, the line’s first ocean-going vessel, is a 100-guest luxury superyacht that will cruise the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Black, and Red Seas in January 2022. When she debuts in 2023, the Emerald Sakara will be the brand’s second superyacht, and she will include the Seychelles in her itinerary. Emerald Cruises operates eight Star-Ships in Europe and one on the Mekong River, as well as a chartered river liner that travels the Russian waterways (MS Nizhny Novgorod). The company is known for its modern luxury ships, excellent service, and all-inclusive price, which has earned them the title of Best River Cruise Line for Value in the Cruise Critic Editors’ Picks Awards for the last five years. Scenic Group, which comprises Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, Mayflower Cruises & Tours, and Evergreen Tours in Australia, owns Emerald Cruises.
