MSC Cruises announced Monday that it will launch its newest flagship for UK customers for summer cruises around the MSC Virtuosa’s maiden voyage to the UK on the 20th. May. Guests departing from Southampton will be the first in a series of three and four-night mini cruises, before departing on the 12th. The seven-night June cruises will be offered from three departure ports in England and Scotland.

All flights are reserved for UK residents and guests of all ages who have either already been vaccinated against COVID-19 or are awaiting vaccination. All guests are screened before boarding. Guests who have not been screened must also provide proof of negative screening 72 hours before boarding. In accordance with MSC Cruises’ health and safety protocol, other measures apply to guests and crew when boarding and preparing to embark.

The four-day mini cruises offer a late departure from Southampton and dock at Portland Island in Dorset, part of the Jurassic Coast, where guests can disembark and enjoy a day at the beach. The itinerary also includes two days at sea, allowing guests to enjoy the activities, entertainment and amenities that the MSC Virtuosa has to offer.

Starting June 12, cruisers can take part in a seven-day voyage with stops in Portland and the Northern Irish city of Belfast, with several departure ports including Liverpool and Greenock, near Glasgow, Scotland.

Delivered in February, MSC Virtuosa is MSC Cruises’ most innovative and environmentally friendly ship. MSC Virtuosa is one of Meraviglia’s class ships with a 367-foot Mediterranean-style promenade with an illuminated dome that serves as the ship’s social center.

The 19-storey ship will offer British guests of all ages fine dining, entertainment, a range of bars and lounges, shops, spa and fitness centres, a water park and special clubs for children from toddler age. Home to the world’s first humanoid robot bartender, named Rob, the brand new MSC Starship Club features a futuristic, immersive bar and entertainment.

MSC Cruises resumed operations in August 2020 after receiving approval from regulators across Europe to implement a health and safety protocol designed to protect the well-being of MSC Cruises’ guests, crew and the communities that visit its ships. Since then, more than 55,000 guests have enjoyed safe and responsible cruise vacations, including company-protected shore excursions.

Previously, the MSC Virtuosa was scheduled to sail between Germany and Northern Europe and the MSC Seaview would take over. Guests and tour guides will be contacted directly.
