If your vacation plans were disrupted by the company’s bankruptcy filing back in April, you’ll be pleased to know that Oceania Cruises is set to start sailing again in August. The company’s ten-ship fleet was originally supposed to restart operations in June, but several voyages were canceled due to a shortage of crew members. Now it looks like Oceania’s ships will be sailing out of New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Miami, kicking off with a trip down the Atlantic Ocean. The Holiday, Oceania Cruises’ 1,250-passenger ship, has been in dry dock since late last year. On August 10, the cruise line announced that the ship had finally passed inspection and would be back in operation next month. (It was initially expected to be back in the water by the end of April.) The ship’s watertight doors failed inspection the first time, so the ship was taken to the Bahamas to pass a more stringent test.
Despite pressure from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings to have DCC run cruises to the United States again, Oceania Cruises is not shying away from planning cruises to other parts of the world.
Oceania Cruises has announced plans to sail from the Danish capital of Copenhagen to northern Europe and Scandinavia this summer.
The 1250-passenger Marina cruise ship will make a series of trips in August, calling at the line as usual. The flights planned by the cruise line are part of the original itinerary of the ship and are subject to change.
The trip will take place on 29. August 2021 to start in Copenhagen, although the cruise line’s website still lists cruises for the beginning of that month.
Dates for the rest of the fleet have not yet been set. Itineraries are checked for port availability and adjusted closer to departure dates if necessary. However, cruises are gradually resuming, supported by the health and safety program SailSAFE, which is designed to protect guests, crew and the communities in which the ships operate.
Bob Binder, president and CEO of Oceania Cruises, said:
The entire Oceania Cruises team is looking forward to focusing our attention on the safe resumption of operations and ultimately the return of our guests to explore the world.
While the reboot is an event that will welcome many former guests, there will be some changes to the program. The shipping company has been working hard on what it calls OceaniaNEXT.

Among the line’s improvements are new restaurants, new menus and a rejuvenation of the brand’s six ships. It also includes a complete refurbishment of the cabins, owner’s suite and amenities.
After a period of dry-docking in Marseilles, France, Oceania Cruises’ Riviera became the first ship to undergo the NEXT treatment, in which the cruise line has invested more than $100 million. Other ships under consideration are the Regatta class ships – Insignia, Regatta, Nautica and Siren.

Customers can certainly expect Northern European cruises that will include extensive port visits.
