Victor Alves joins the Scenic Group as Director of Hotel Operations – Ocean, Sepp Dendl is the new Director of Hotel Operations – River and Jordanov is the new Director of Hotel Technical Operations – River and Ocean. All three will report to Benny Weidacher, Vice President of Cruise Operations, who said the company is looking forward to their combined experience that will enhance our ability to provide a true six-star experience for our customers.
Alves brings nearly 20 years of cruise hotel experience to his new role as Hospitality Director for the Scenic Group, Ocean. Prior to joining Scenic, he worked at Seabourn, where his last position included Assistant Manager of Hotel Operations/New Construction Shipments.
Scenic’s press release states that Alves’ previous work in guest experience, employee training and performance improvement is part of Scenic’s ongoing commitment to exceeding guest expectations and developing the crew’s ability to continuously achieve excellence. One of the priorities? Alves plans to develop a new world-class employee training program to ensure growth and service at the highest level. at the highest level.
Alves is originally from Portugal and holds certificates in hotel and hospitality management from Cornell University and Salzburg Tourism Schools. He appreciates innovation and knows how to best use it to enhance the customer experience and make personal service the top priority of Scenic Ocean Fleet.
Sepp Dendl, Hospitality Manager – River
Dendle, who joined Scenic Group in 2019, was instrumental in improving the guest experience and in the decision to bring the fleet-wide hotel in-house as the new hospitality manager – River, the company said.
Previously, Dendl worked for AIDA Cruises, Viking River Cruises and four and five-star hotels in Russia and Switzerland. The focus will be on streamlining the hotel’s management structure to be more proactive and responsive, aligning the variety of different menus with local food and wine from the country the ships sail in, making greater use of local suppliers and products, and aligning the business with the goal of environmental sustainability.
For the past ten years, Mr. Yordanov has been the cruise engineering team leader for Pullmantur Cruises and Grimaldi Lines. With direct experience in virtually every aspect of engineering, Jordan will be both a colleague and the technical team leader of his stage group. The Scenic Group’s immersion in its maritime operations gives Jordan the opportunity to expand its capabilities on the rivers and work with these crews to continue representing the best vessels on the rivers.
In addition to technology, he will be responsible for everything from marine environment training for crew and safety training for crew who are in direct contact with guests, to security and crisis management.
