Sedona Peace Park

Address : 2650 Pueblo Doctor, Sedona AZ

Sedona Stupa and Peace Park are open every day from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm and I strongly recommend that you visit this quiet place at Sedona Red Rocks.

At the Amitabha Stupa in Sedona you will see a large bronze sculpture of Buddha looking at the 36 foot high stupa. Colourful prayer flags are decorated with many trees in the Peace Park.

The atmosphere is cheerful and welcoming. There are many hiking trails near The Step, such as Chimney Rock and Thunder Mountain.

I’m not a religious person, but I do yoga and meditate daily.

As I took the road to the Stupa, I felt the positive energy of the Peace Park. It is a place for anyone looking for enlightenment, contemplation or solitude.

Amitabh History steps

The Sedona Amitabha Stupa takes its name from Buddha Amitabha, the Buddha of infinite light.

For 18 months, Tulcu San Nang Rinpoche supervised the construction of the Amitabha Stupa in Sedona, Arizona. Rinpoche then organises ceremonies at Amitabha’s stupa to create a favourable environment.

People from all over the world come to Sedona to awaken spiritually, while Amitabha’s Stupa receives thousands of visitors each year.

The year is over: 2004

Height: 11 meters (36 feet)

Visit to Amitabh Sedon Step

The Amitabha Stupa has a parking lot, but it is very busy. It is therefore preferable to plan your visit on weekdays when it is not too busy.

I felt a quiet and welcoming atmosphere in Sedona Stupa as soon as I started walking on the path to the sacred building.

A covered space with chairs overlooking the stupa allows people to meditate.

If you follow the path around the stupa, they all go in the same direction, clockwise around the temple.

What is stupa?

The stupas are the oldest religious monuments of Buddhism. Originally stupas were made of earth and stones and were used to bury the Buddha.

The definition of a stupa is a dome-shaped building erected in memory of the Buddha. These spiritual structures are places for meditation.

Narcotics are rare in the western world. That makes Sedona Stupa even more special.

Nowadays there are different kinds of stupas, such as memorable stupas, object stupas, relics, symbols and vowels. In Tibetan Buddhism there are eight kinds of stupas (choirs) that mark the events in the life of the Buddha.

It’s traditional to make sacrifices in the legs.

The steps of the Sedona Peace Park are filled with millions of prayers for peace.
