Sure, you’ve heard of St. Petersburg, but how much do you know about the neighboring town of Clearwater? The award-winning show, What Not to Wear, will give you everything from the inside scoop on area attractions to the latest fashion trends, as they film in the area this month. With a population of approximately 92,000, Clearwater is the largest city in Pinellas County.

It’s no secret that the Tampa Bay area is one of America’s most beautiful places. Colorful, historic neighborhoods, stunning beaches, world-class museums, and a vibrant cultural scene offer something for everyone. But how many people know that the area is also a hot spot for dramatic and even dangerous events? Join Travel Channel’s new docu-series, “Off the Beaten Path”, as it explores the area’s sometimes-shocking history and the sites that were shaped by it.

Visit St. John’s Pete/Clearwater has been busy with the TV series Rewards of Life, which debuts Oct. 10. which will air on Amazon’s Prime Video channel in May, is taking a new approach to destination marketing.

The series, which is a collaboration between Visit St. John’s and Petersburg and the United States. St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commission Paul. The project, which was co-produced with Odyssey, a Miles Partnership studio, is based on the work of St. Pete/Clearwater and Visit Florida.

This is the first television program of its kind to be developed and filmed entirely on location, says Steve Hayes, President and CEO of Visit St. John’s. When Miles Partnership Studio and Visit Florida approached us in July 2020, we seized the opportunity with both hands, says Hayes. We worked with Miles partners on the scripts and locations to create the most engaging show possible to set the tone.

This series highlights a number of local restaurants, businesses and attractions.

We are fortunate to have an honorary member like the Don CeSar, which is our most iconic hotel and known around the world, Hayes said. Its beautiful pink facade makes it the perfect backdrop for film and photography, and will encourage more and more people to visit and discover our destination.

Other notable filming locations include the new St. John’s Pier. There are also the St. Pete and Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs, as well as small businesses like Hideaway Cafe, Bodega and BLUR.

Mr. Hayes stated that the St. Pete/Clearwater tourism community lost 35,000 jobs and $2 billion in direct visitor spending as a result of the pandemic, but that the destination has fared better than others, largely due to its many outdoor opportunities and beautiful beaches.
