The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has taken down its health notice on cruises from the website after cruise lines criticized it as unfair. Cruise industry experts say that this is a problem of communication, not information.

The “cdc cruise guidelines 2022” is a health notice that the CDC has released. Cruises have been going on as usual, but some Cruise Executives are reacting to it.

The cruise industry’s response to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) decision to no longer advise against sailing on cruise ships was overwhelmingly favorable.

“I’m relieved that the CDC has withdrawn what I consider to be an unjustified and unfair warning against cruising,” said Trish Gastineau, owner of Simply Customized Travel.

“Their requirements for staff and guests to obtain immunizations, be tested before to sailing, and wear masks, as well as continual cleaning and guest health monitoring, were much more stringent than any other in the travel business.”

“Most of us in the know felt safer on a cruise ship than we did in our neighborhood grocery store or dining in a local restaurant, where we didn’t know whether our fellow shoppers or diners were infectious.”

The CDC’s “removal of its health alert relating to cruise travel is a significant step forward in acknowledging the work we have done to safeguard our passengers,” according to Holland America Line President Gus Antorcha.

“At Holland America Line, we continue to run clean cruises and have built a safe and healthy atmosphere for our customers, our crew, and the communities we serve, ensuring that cruising remains one of the safest forms of socializing and travel,” he stated.

Virgin Voyages CEO Tom McAlpin commented, “We’re really happy to see that the CDC acknowledges that it’s time to eliminate the travel health alert website.”

“While we believe this has been a long time coming, we see this as a sign of the hard effort our industry has put in to guarantee that we are providing the safest mode of transportation.”

“It’s wonderful to see them meet us where we are, and definitely where our customers are, given the recent surge in demand.”

Virgin Voyages maintains its stringent health and safety regulations and prioritizes the safety and well-being of its sailors and crew.

“The brand knows what is working and looks forward to continue to make advances toward cruising’s total resurgence.”

Similarly, the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) said that the safety of passengers remains paramount.

“As we welcome back millions of passengers, we look forward to providing memorable holiday experiences while continuing to emphasize the health and safety of everyone aboard and the communities we visit,” said Laziza Lambert, CLIA’s director of strategic communications and public relations.

Michelle Fee, CEO and Founder of Cruise Planners, learned of the news during CLIA’s annual conference.

She stated, “We’re at CLIA’s Cruise360 this week, and this news couldn’t have come at a better moment.”

“We’re ecstatic to see the CDC take these great efforts to properly acknowledge the industry’s unwavering commitment to ensuring customers’ health and safety from the beginning.”

“We’re convinced that the pent-up demand for travel, along with the outstanding job that cruise lines continue to perform, will help us get back on track sooner rather than later.”
